In this 2017 movie the background lead up to the murders and the shooting itself aren't as well handled. In this new 2017 movie it plays out like the abuse did happen and they lost the retrial because evidence of the abuse was not allowed. ![]() In the earlier versions seem to point more to the guilt of the brothers and that the abuse was fabricated. This movie is an interesting contrast to the earlier 1994 movies "Honor Thy Father and Mother: The True Story of the Menendez Murders" with Jill Clayburgh and "Menendez: A Killing in Beverly Hills" with Beverly dÁngelo. If you want to see a better version(s) of the film see either the 1994 version Menendez: A Killing In Beverly Hills, and/or the 2017 eight (8) part mini series titled: Law & Order True Crime. This version was far too much "dream sequence" and simply just ignored the magnitude of facts for fictional dream sequences that painted a distinct visual picture of sexual abuse which purportedly justified the murders. The prosecutors proved beyond a shadow of any doubt that Eric and Lyle planned the murders (purchasing their shotguns weeks in advance using a friends stolen ID card without his prior knowledge) and tried to hide their sloppy crime of pure greed for their parents wealth. This certainly was an abbreviated version of the two trials and one would also think that the brothers were railroaded and that no one believed in their sexual abuse defense. The second trial the judge restricted both the evidence and the witnesses that could be presented which was Eric's lawyers entire defense and as a result both brothers were sentenced to life sentences without a chance for parole. The court documents are factual and the brothers first trial ended in a mistrial. ![]() After watching this version of the film one can only come to the conclusion that Eric and Lyle Menendez murdered their parents to end years of sexual abuse by both of their parents. In this TV version of the murders of Kitty and Jose Menendez, the younger son Eric continually dreams that he is speaking with his dead mother while trying to figure out why his mother allowed his father to continually sexually abuse him, and he is torn between his guilt for aiding his brother Lyle in murdering their parents in cold blood, and his undying love for his dead parents. The entire film relied on the younger brothers' Eric Menendez dreams in the form of flashbacks to tell a one sided version of what may have caused Eric and his older brother Lyle Menendez to kill both of their parents with multiple rounds from two (2) shotguns. Lifetime films can sometimes be good but this one was a real stinker. It is actually criminally stupid how much easier it is as Arms. Some people can get it as Havoc, and that’s good for them, but it is not at all worth the amount of effort as it stands right now as Havoc. ![]() If you want the DH mog, do it as Vengeance instead. For arms, phase 1 lasted maybe 3 minutes, I could play like complete garbage and it was so forgiving that it didn’t even matter, and phase 2 was reasonably paced that I was able to beat it with a bit of space left on the platform. Half the platform would be completely covered before I could even get the boss a quarter of the way down. And phase 2 for Havoc was impossible, not enough dps even with consumes. When I was doing it on my DH, I had to play absolutely perfectly and phase 1 lasted for about 8 or so minutes. Even if you don’t have a warrior and have to level up one from scratch, it will actually take far less effort than it will for you to continue trying to do it on DH. I spent several hours trying this on Havoc and here’s my tip for you:ĭo it as an Arms warr. Also had two potion embellishments, although it only looked like one worked(the potion lasted 1.5 mins). The Victorians, too, known for their aesthetic brilliance, were enthralled with the stone. Even medieval Europe witnessed the clergy and nobility hold the fancy gemstone in high esteem and often wore garnet embellished jewelry with pride galore. ![]() The ancient Romans and Greeks would wear signet rings with carved garnets to stamp the wax that would secure essential documents. Considering them a prized possession to ensure security in the afterlife, they would even bury red garnets with their corpses, disguised as mummies. Years later, archeologists discovered precious garnet jewelry in the tombs of these pharaohs, dating back to 3100 B.C. They would adorn necklaces studded with garnets. Such is the spellbinding beauty of these red gemstones that even thousands of years ago, the pharaohs in ancient Egypt felt ensnared with their charm. A handful of red garnets laid out in the sun, and one could easily mistake them as some lush seeds of the fruit. The name ‘Garnet’ originates from the medieval Latin word granatus, meaning ‘seeds,' owing to its captivating resemblance to pomegranate seeds. Its acknowledgment and usage as a gemstone and abrasive trace back to the Bronze Age, around 5,000 years ago. The gorgeous ‘Garnet' stone is not a recent discovery. How Garnet Was Celebrated Even in Ancient Times We cannot think of a more timeless gift than a stunning garnet-embedded jewelry piece for the occasion. They are, in David Allen's terms, the "latest and loudest". Urgent tasks come in hot into our inboxes and scream loudly for resolution. We tend to give our attention to urgent tasks at the expense of important tasks. They are "slower", connected to a long game of personal or professional or organizational development. Important items on the other hand belong to long-term goals and items of strategic value. Urgent items are always focused on the present moment: They need attention right now and if they are not dealt with, the consequences also happen right now. The difference between the important and the urgent can be vast. The urgent are not important, and the important are never urgent. Eisenhower once said: I have two kinds of problems: the urgent and the important. You’re completing your personal project and the teacher has asked for your aims and objectives by tomorrow. One of the biggest lessons I have learned so far as a department chair is the importance of differentiating between tasks that are important, and things that are urgent. It is difficult to eliminate these tasks altogether, however in order to work efficiently you must try and limit the time given to such tasks. Each time you search for a new song you are wasting several minutes which could have been spent completing the task. ![]() You surf the web searching for a song which takes a few minutes. You are completing a risk assessment on the computer and decide to listen to music whilst working. Not important and not urgent tasksĪn action that does not require attention and is not essential for the end goal is a distraction. However, if doing so will have a negative impact on your end goal you could delegate by asking someone else to address it on your behalf. If it won’t impact your work, you could address it. You must decide if you will give it your attention. However, it is not important for your end goal. This requires your immediate attention and so is urgent, as the pupil is waiting for a response. Whilst you are completing the risk assessment another student asks for help using the computer software to create their resources. ExampleĪs part of the team action plan you are given specific tasks to complete. The suggestions are not necessarily bad tasks, but you must keep the balance between these and those that are important. The points raised during the interruptions often feel important, but are often not linked to the end goal. This could include interruptions from others. If an action is urgent but not important it requires immediate attention (urgent) but is not essential in order to fulfil the end goal (not important). Careful planning and organisation can help with these types of tasks as you build in a contingency, eg everyone is confident with the session content and so the redistribution of tasks isn’t a problem. It is also important, as you must each know what to do in order for the session to be a success. This task is urgent, as your coaching session is due to start soon. You will need to amend the plan and redistribute the roles amongst the team. It is your first day coaching year 7 and a member of your team is ill. If an action is both urgent and important, it will require immediate attention (urgent) and will be essential in order to fulfil the end goal (important). However, ensuring that the risk assessment is completed is not urgent unless you find that you haven't finished it in enough time for the team to move on with other tasks. This is important as it allows the team to identify the potential problems that could arise. ExampleĪs part of the team action plan you are given the task of completing the risk assessment. When completing the Community challenge most tasks will be important, and will only become urgent if you fall behind with personal deadlines. These are actions that have no immediate deadline (not urgent) but are essential in order to complete the end goal (important). The Eisenhower matrix shows that whether an action is important or urgent will influence when it should be done and who could complete it. The key to good time management is to be able to tell the difference between the words urgent and important. |
